The believers are to remind one another constantly because we as humans forget.

Q: In times when your iman dips, what do you do or recommend that people do?Ī: Reminders. Q: Do you think you will or do you have any plans to write and/or compile more books? Q: Does the order of the reminders in the book have a meaning? They propelled me further in my religion and my journey towards Allah. Q: Why did the reminders make it to the book – what makes them special?Ī: They moved my heart and they had an impact on me spiritually. The timepiece highlights the timeless nature of these seeds that they will remain true until the end of time. Q: What is the meaning behind the cover design?Ī: That such small seeds once you plant them and internalize them, they will grow into trees although at first this may not be obvious as growing takes time. Q: What did you hope to achieve by publishing your book?Ī: For it to be a means of salvation for my hereafter and to help my beloved brothers and sisters in faith. Q: When publishing the book, did you expect it would be as popular as it has been and continues to be in sha Allah?Ī: Not really but I was never hopeless because Allah would never let such thing go unnoticed and He would bless it. did you write by hand or get it straight onto a computer?Ī: I wrote entirely on my computer on a daily basis for the time I specified. Q: When writing, did you ever have moments when you wanted to give up or doubted yourself and this project?Ī: Not even once, I was extremely motivated, happy and excited to do this because I was looking forward to the reward (If Allah wills) and the benefit that it will have on everyone (by the will of Allah). Secondary to that the thought occurred to me that if these teachings benefit me and have improved my state of imaan, they would surely do the same for the rest of the believers who are seekers. I pray this book inspires others to do the sameĪ: My inspiration is due to Allah, His favor and His blessing upon me before anything. It aims to highlight only a drop of the beautiful ocean of Islam. It is to benefit the wider community of both sisters and brothers to further themselves and their state of imaan to remind them about Allah, to remind them about what is happening when they feel lost, to give them hope – to remind them that they have a loving Master who will never abandom them. That is the only intention involved in the book. Q: In your own words, describe your book.Ī: It is a book written for the cause of Allah. A simple idea to write/compile a book has led to the book’s author impacting the lives of so many. Never underestimate the impact you can have on others. The one thing I hope you take away from the interview is this: Below is the interview – I hope you’ll find it inspiring and enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed the process.

I got in touch with the author and alhamdulilah I got the chance to interview him. It is humbling and inspiring and truly makes you remember the temporary nature of this life and the fact that what is troubling you now is nothing in relation to the grand scheme of things.

You can read it cover to cover or choose a reminder every day to reflect upon deeply. It’s a gorgeous book with a soothing cover and it provides short reminders from greats such as Ibn al-Qayyim and Ibn Taymiyyah. Abdulla is a book I have been dipping into again this year.
